Prof. Dr. Dr. Peter Höppe is a meteorologist and human biologist. He worked, among other things, at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich in the fields of bioclimatology and applied meteorology as well as occupational and environmental medicine, climate change, and environmental risk assessment. His research focused on the effects of atmospheric processes and air pollutants on humans and on the assessment of environmental risks. For 14 years, he was Head of Geo Risk Research / Corporate Climate Centre at Munich Re. Among others, he was a member of advisory boards at the OECD, the German Climate Service Center of the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology, the Climate Council of the Bavarian State Government, founder and chair of the Munich Climate Insurance Initiative, and board member of the Global Climate Forum.
